Rich put together his band Rich and the Poor Boys in March 2023, having met Denny, Andrew and Jason through the Tasman Bay Blues Club where they performed at the Club's monthly Blues Jam Nights.  

Sadly, Jason's final performance with the Band was at Blues at the Point in March, though it has to be said, if you're aiming to exit on a high note, his timing was perfect!   Our new and very talented drummer, Angai Fakava, joins us for our next gig at the Wakefield Hotel on 30th June.

The Poor Boys are all dedicated Blues musicians who have been playing around the Nelson/Tasman region in various bands for many years.

Rich is a founding member of Jukejoint with whom he continues to play, but he was keen to form a smaller Blues band which was harmonica-led, playing more in the Chicago Blues style of Little Walter, Howlin' Wolf, and Junior Wells, as well as incorporating some original material.
