2025 has been another great year for Rich and the Poor Boys, from regular gigs at
The Wakefield Hotel and The Boathouse,
to
The Tahuna Summer Sounds Festival, and of course, the highlight of the year,
The Blues On the Point Festival in early February. Again, a phenomenal success, and we were delighted to be part of the celebrations both last, and this year - see pics in our
Gallery section.
BREAKING BAD NEWS! Sadly, our drummer Angai Fakava had to hang up his drumsticks, due to family and work commitments. We've had a great run, and thanks Angai for your fantastic contribution to the band's performance over the past 18 months.
AND THE GOOD NEWS? JASON MILLS IS BACK!Jason's last gig with us was
Blues at the Point Festival '24. He's a incredibly talented drummer and was a great loss to the Band back then. So, with Angai's departure, we 'persuaded' Jason to rejoin "The Poor Boys" and are delighted to confirm He's Back! Our reunion gig at
The Honest Lawyer on 1 November was a real blast, thanks to a great audience, and with special thanks to Chris Baillie for his guest appearance 'on trumpet' (see pictures on our Gallery).
Our next big gig is on
31st December when we're celebrating the start of a New Year at
The Wakefield Hotel with a big 'ol
New Year's Eve shindig. SO BE THERE - we guarantee it'll be a heap of fun!
More gigs in 2026 follow, starting with
Golden Bear Brewing on 6 January, and
Marchfest! Details to follow.
